Chile - Osorno - Week 60 - Another transfer has come to an end.......

I seriously cannot believe how fast this transfer went. I swear I just got to Osorno last week, not even kidding.

This transfer has been full of so many miracles! I have no words to explain how we were able to baptize all of these wonderful people, other than they were already prepared and we were only instruments in the hands of the Lord to bring them the truth, because seriously I did absolutely nothing.
I studied, I prayed, we taught, and they were baptized. That was it! So incredible.

This weekend we had the baptism of Carlos and the wedding and baptism of Catherine! Everything went super well! There were a few obstacles of course, as there are with every baptism, (for example I had to get into the font again...) but in the end everything was good! =) Everyone is happy, us included, and we are ready to keep seeing more success in our sector!

My companion will be returning to her homeland of Argentina this week, and I will be receiving another companion from Argentina! She will be my last companion of my mission! I hear she is great so I´m excited! I'm going to miss Hna. Dávila a lot. We saw so many miracles together, but I am grateful for the time we had  and for all the things I learned from her. I have seriously had some of the best sister missionaries as my companions and I am the missionary that I am today thanks to every single one of them. So, so grateful for them.

This week is the start of my second to last transfer of my mission. Time is flying and I really don't know what to do with myself. The more work I have, the faster time goes and I still have so much to do! I pray that I will be able to complete everything the Lord has sent me here to do and that in 3 months I will be able to say that I gave it my all.

3 months left.....no regrets!
LETS GO!!

Chile - Osorno - Week 59 - Migraines and Miracles- Part 2 !!!

Aaaaaaaand we are just seeing more miracles here folks! This has seriously been the most exciting month of my mission!

As I mentioned last week, we were going to see if the Patriarch could pull some strings for us so that Catherine could get baptized this week. On Monday we went to visit her and after the lesson she said
"so, I guess I'm not getting baptized on the 23rd?" I said, "oh no, don't you worry! We found someone who is going to help us out! Say your prayers tonight and everything is gonna work out. You are gonna get baptized the 23rd!"

That night we called the Patriarch and he said "I talked to one of my coworkers today, if Catherine goes to the Court House tomorrow and asked for the Señora (some lady) and mentions my name, she will give them a date before the 23rd, special exception."
We called Catherine right away and told her what she needed to do. Tuesday she went to the Court House, talked to the lady, and we are happy to announce that Catherine and her boyfriend Jose Luis will be married Saturday, January 23rd, and that Catherine will be baptized Sunday, January 24th!!!!!

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! GOD IS A GOD OF MIRACLES!!!!! Amazing what faith and works can do!.  If your desire is just and you do your part, God will always provide a way!
We are so excited for them! Jose Luis isn't ready to be baptized right now, but we are working with him as much as we can and he will be baptized here in the next few weeks!
We are hoping for the middle of February!!

We also have the baptism of our investigator Carlos on Saturday!!  He is doing great and is ready to go!! Amazing how the people here are so prepared! This place is crazy!!

Wednesday I had the opportunity to go to the doctor for the first time in the mission and figure out what was up with my head. The doctor told me "you have a headache" ... no kidding, that's why I'm here, mujer (woman) !! . She told me I was fine and that I just needed to rest for a bit so I slept for 2 days straight, took some pills and now I'm good! I think I was just super tired.

This week is gonna be super crazy, but I'm super excited! Next week I will be preparing for a new companion and for my 2nd to last transfer........

I LOVE THE MISSION!!!!

Guardians of the Font! If you want to be baptized,
you must go through us! =)
As with every baptism, something has to go wrong with the font.
This weeks episode was that the Elders filled the font
with freezing water, so we had to unplug the thing to let some cold water out
and put some hot water in but when we went to plug it up again,
the plug didn't fit in the hole... I had to go in and shove it in the stinking hole.
It was about a 15 minute fight, but I finally got it in and
we were able to fill it up again in less than 30 minutes! Miracles happen....

Camila was baptized by her Dad on Saturday!
It was awesome to see how much her dad has changed
in these last few weeks. He has been inactive for many years,
but when Camila said that she wanted to be baptized,
he put forth lots of effort to change and get back into the church.
He is now active in the church and was able to baptize his daughter!

White is my new favorite color ;)

Chile - Osorno - Week 58 - Migraines and Miracles !!!

Bueno, this week was awesome and awful at the same time! More awesome than awful!
One of our investigators, Catherine, wants to get baptized but she isn't married and lives with her boyfriend.  We have been trying to teach him too, but he is never home. He has lots of questions about the church and has been interested, but it,s just been hard to find him.

The other day we asked Catherine if she still wanted to be baptized and she said "yes". We told her that if she knew that the church was true, she needed to talk to her boyfriend about getting married.
The next day we passed by and she said that she had talked to him and that they had decided that now was not the time and that they wanted to wait and get more "settled" first... not what we wanted to hear, so we taught her that by following GOD's commandments and putting those things first, God would bless them with the temporal things. Luckily her boyfriend was there so we were able to share that with him too.

We invited them to pray together to see what the Lord would have them do. A few days later we went back and asked her if they had received an answer. She said "Jose Luis prayed and said that after his prayer a memory popped into into his head of two Elders that came to his house years ago and shared a message with them. His dad told them to leave and not to come back again.  After that,  a bunch of bad things happened to their family and so he took that as his answer!"  Whatever works!

They went to the Registro Civil (Court House) a few days after to set a marriage date but all the spots were full. We found out that the stake patriarch works for the Registro Civil so we are going to see if he can pull some strings and get them a spot so they can get baptized the 23rd!

They both came to church yesterday and Jose Luis loved it! We are going to visit them today to see what's up!  We are so excited for them! The LORD works in mysterious ways!

The awful part of my week was that I was stuck in the house for 3 days with a wicked headache, but no biggie! This week we have a baptism on Saturday! Its gonna be awesome! =)
