Chile - Pucón - Week 13 - Well.. she warned us... Hna. Segura and comp. have been evacuated.

Email from Mission President

Dear family,

Overnight there was a volcano eruption of the Villarrica volcano in northern Chile.  All missionaries are accounted for and safe.  The missionaries who were serving in Pucón closest to the volcano have been pulled out to a safer location until further notice.  We are monitoring the situation.  Please rest assured that your missionaries are safe and protected.

Bueno, the volcano exploded at around 3:00am this morning and the Mission President has asked us to evacuate Pucón . I'm  fine but I will be somewhere else for the next 10 days. In case you don't hear from me on Monday, no worries!

Talk you soon! Love you guys!

  2. This is too funny, but your daughter was evacuated to Villarrica and spent a day or two in a companionship with our daughter, Hermana Coombs. We googled the volcano and came across an article titled, "Utahns watch aftermath of Chile volcano as daughter serves nearby," which is how we found this blog. Unfortunately our daughter slept through all the excitement and had to relive it through Hermana Segura. Thanks for sharing!!!
